Beautiful Podere Jana Dream Wedding
We hired the whole Vineyard and medieval house for a full week with our 26 guests of family and friends for our wedding. We'd visited several times in the lead up to our wedding and found Podere Jana to be beautifully immaculate on every occasion, so knew we'd made the right choice. Gianluca had made sure everything was perfect upon our arrival and the apartments are all huge and beautifully decorated, which made it difficult for us to choose which one to have. We pretty much said we'll have 'this one' on opening each and every door!! To be honest they are all amazing with lots of rooms. Some are almost houses in terms of size! The outside kitchen is great for Pizza parties with it's pizza oven and BBQ, with lots of tables for dining out on with some excellent local wine. The pool is a great size and well maintained and is a great sun trap for some afternoon relaxation....and the Jacuzzi is a real treat!! In terms of location: Well it's 5 mins in a car into Vinci, and 15 mins to Empoli, so well placed for getting around. Podere jana is located in the hills just behind Vinci, so you get some great views across the town and the landscape beyond. Overall we couldn't have chosen anywhere better for our wedding reception and holiday. Perfecto.

We stayed here a few years ago with a group of friends. Each family had their own apartment in this 14th Century Villa. As others have mentioned, we had an endless pizza party outside all pizza's made in the outdoor stone oven. Had another amazing dinner for 50th Birthday celebration, the food was outstanding! The views were unbelievable, the drive once you got off the main roads to this place were like you were in a movie. We plan to go back someday. We went to Rome first, then stayed here a week and went on to Venice. Took a few day trips to Pisa and Lucca, another day went to Sienna. Magnifico!!!

The Best Memories Made...Can't wait to go back
The best time ever!!! Rented out the whole villa for a family reunion. Each family had their own suite. Very clean & Tuscan. The caretakers were VERY ACCOMODATING!! Had two meals catered...wish we had done a couple more...well worth the expense!!! Stayed for a full week. Hated to leave. Took day trips to Florence, Siena, Pisa & San Gimignano. Great location. Pool came in very handy with the summer heat. Planning on returning.
27 August 2012 - Gigi F - Tampa - A week's holiday and wedding to remember
We and 23 other family members and friends stayed at Podere Jana for a week and we had our wedding on the Thursday, with the reception held in Podere Jana - it was a fantastic stay and an amazing way to celebrate a wedding! We hired the whole place so all groups had their own apartments so could come and go as they pleased and do their own thing but we also hired the central kitchen so we could cook and eat together too! The whole place and all apartments is well equipped, beutifully clean and maintained, the pool and pool area is wonderful, the gardens are beautiful and the place is very peaceful with amazing views. The Manager, Gianluca was very helpful and nothing was too much touble, they laid on a pizza party for us with so much pizza, even the biggest eaters were unable to finish - they also do great breakfasts with amazing scrambled egg!! We can't rate/recommend this place highly enough whether for a quiet family holiday or a group booking (it sleeps up to 45 people), it is set up in the hills above Vinci but is ideally located for site seeing trips to Florence, Pisa, Sienna, Lucca and many other places, a car is an absolute must though and there is a huge Co-op 15 minutes drive away in Empoli for everything you could possibly need!!
8 July 2012 - Karen D - Royal Wootton Bassett - An Absolute Tuscan Gem
We stayed here in September for a week for my sisters wedding. It was amazing! Arrived first night to an endless pizza party! Enjoyed two amazing Italian family style dinners there. Pool was warm even for September. Everything was spotless and perfect. Our family and friends rented the entire villa and all of the apartments were spacious and beautiful. Beds very comfortable, nice kitchens. We were even able to use the villas main kitchen one evening to cook a communal meal. The location is perfect. Set amongst the Tuscan hills, surrounded by olive groves, fruit trees and amazing sunsets. If you are looking to host a large family function in Tuscany, look no further that Podere Jana. Definitely need a car with GPS or car hire. Take train to anywhere from Empoli. A group of roughly 20 of us even made the journey to Cinque Terre one day. It was fabulous. Coffee at the train station very good. Town of Vinci wonderful. Empoli has a huge Coop. Only 30 minute train ride to Florence. Such a wonderful way to spend a week in Tuscany. Can't wait to go back and take our two young children there.

Very nice place
We went to Podere Jana (apartment gisella) on two occasions, in July 2006 and in July 2008. The apartment was superb, spacious and the kitchen was very well equipped. The pool was very nice. There is a jacuzzi, a barbecue area and a table-football available for guests. Podere Jana is within an hour and a half drive from Florence. Its location allows you to visit many tourist attractions in the region.
6 February 2009 - didi - Normandie - Perfect Tuscan Farmhouse for a Perfect Tuscan Wedding”
We hired Podere Jana for our low key Tuscan wedding after finding it online and had an absolutely fabulous break - it was perfect! It is a beautiful Tuscan farmhouse, surrounded by olive groves. If you want to hire the whole thing, it sleeps up to 40 people but it is divided into appartments that sleep 2-6 people and you can hire just one (or 2 or 3) apartments if you want. Other communal facilities include a pool (quite cold by September!) a hot tub, a table tennis table, table football, a wood burning stove and a pizza oven. The staff are all lovely and the place is kept spotless and very well groomed. They will also provide food - breakfasts, Tuscan buffets, pizza parties and help with the BBQ if you need it (at extra cost). Being in a remote location in the middle of nowhere, a car is essential (even for Vinci). However, if you base yourself there you are in reach of most Tuscan highlights - Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, San Gimigniano. Having stayed in many places around Europe - this really is the most glowing report I could ever give - would highly recommend to anyone considering a Tuscan holiday who doesn't need to be based in the thick of things .
